Who operates this website

This website is operated as an initiative of The Raines Foundation. Privacy questions can be sent to dylan@rainesfoundation.org.

Your account

When you join, we collect your name, email address, handle, password, profile photo, and the focus area most important to you. Your focus area is shown on your profile. We may also store your answer to the first-post question. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash. You can edit your profile at any time.

If you forget your password, we email a one-time reset link to your account email. The link expires after 1 hour. We do not issue recovery codes.

A secure session cookie keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts.

Posts and community activity

Posts in the Global Square are shown to the audience you choose: All Humanity (all signed-in members) or Connections only. Wisdom Insights are always public. Any single post can be shared through a public link, which shows the post text and featured image, including in link previews on other websites and apps. You can edit or delete your own posts.

We store your replies, connection requests and acceptances, and notifications. Your name, handle, photo, and focus area are visible to other members. Assembly News, Resolutions, and Events are posted by our admin and staff, and department accounts post on behalf of Foundation departments. Authorized administrators can access stored records for support, moderation, and operations, and reports are kept in a private moderation queue.

Email

We send account and community emails, such as password reset links, connection requests, and notifications. These are delivered through toSend. You can unsubscribe from notification emails using the link in each email.

Photos and media

Profile photos (up to 10MB), cover photos, and images and video you add to posts are stored on Cloudflare R2. Media attached to a post is visible to whoever can see that post.

Donations

Donations are processed by Stripe Checkout, as one-time or monthly gifts, to the 100% Fund or the Operations Fund. Stripe collects and handles your card details; we do not receive or store your full card number. We receive a record of your gift, such as your name, email, amount, fund, and frequency. You can manage or cancel a monthly gift at any time through the Stripe customer portal linked on the Donate page.

Charity Pages and projects

Members can create and manage Charity Pages. We store the information you submit for admin verification. Only verified Charity Pages appear publicly, and private contact emails and registration identifiers are not displayed. Verification is not an endorsement or a funding commitment.

Ambassador applications

When you apply to be an Ambassador, we store the details you submit in the application, your name, email, country, why you want to join, and your skills, so we can review your application and contact you about it.

When you contact us

We store the name, email address, interest, message, and consent choices you submit through our contact form, and use them to respond. An optional checkbox records whether you want updates.

Security and service providers

Cloudflare hosts this website and its database and storage. We use Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible check, to protect our forms from bots; it processes limited browser and device information to do this. For abuse prevention, we may briefly store a hashed network identifier and request count. Our service providers are Cloudflare (hosting, storage, and bot protection), Stripe (payments), and toSend (email). Each handles data under its own privacy terms.

Podcast and embedded content

Some pages include Spotify players for our podcast. When a player loads, Spotify may receive information from your browser under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, delete your posts, and unsubscribe from notification emails. To request access, correction, or deletion of your account or other information, contact the Foundation. We keep information while it is needed for the purposes above, subject to legal and recordkeeping obligations.
